WA IPS Principals hiring shakeup

524 Independent Public School principals have been instructed to employ “redeployees”. Education Minister, Sue Ellery is ensuring the changes are implemented across WA.  Principals not choosing to employ redeployees must explain their decision in writing.

Since 2010, IPS principals have had complete independence when hiring of staff, however now they will need to consider redeployees.  Opposition education spokeswoman Donna Faragher said, “The fundamental change that would cause me the most significant concern would be if there was any change to allowing principals to not have the flexibility to choose the staff that best meet their needs.”
